How Is Cultured Brick Installed?

Cultured brick is usually installed as wall cladding or for decorative use indoors and outdoors. The installation steps are:

1. Surface preparation: The surface must be clean, flat and even. If the wall is painted, the old paint may need to be removed or sanded.
2. Choosing the adhesive: Cultured bricks are fixed with a special adhesive suited to both the surface and the brick type.
3. Applying the adhesive: The adhesive is spread on the surface with a trowel so the bricks bond evenly.
4. Placing the bricks: The bricks are carefully pressed into the adhesive, aligned neatly with consistent joints.
5. Filling the joints: The joints are filled with a special grout or mortar, which both looks good and helps hold the bricks firmly.
6. Corners and edges: Cut bricks or special corner pieces give a clean finish at corners and edges.
7. Cleaning: Once the adhesive and grout have dried, the surface is cleaned with a sponge or damp cloth.
